The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was established as one of the departments of the Faculty of Dentistry at Alneelain University. It supervises the preparation, teaching and training of the scientific subject related to the basics of oral and maxillofacial surgery for dental students. The department contributes to scientific research by supervising student research and publishing teaching staff research. It also provides therapeutic services in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery through consulting clinics at University clinics by performing minor operations. The members of the department participate annually in the mobile clinic, which provides free treatment for some villages and remote areas. The members of the department also participate actively in spreading awareness in the field of oral and dental health through educational seminars and therapeutic campaigns with college students from undergraduate.

تأسس قسم جراحة الفم و الوجه و الفكين عام 2009 في مستشفى بحري التعليمي قسم الاسنان واستمر تدريب الطلاب هناك حتى عام 2013. و ايضا تمت الاستعانة بكلية طب الاسنان - جامعة الخرطوم و مستشفى الاسنان التعليمي الخرطوم لتدريب الطلاب بقسم جراحة الفم و الوجه و الفكين بمستشفى الاسنان منذ عام 2009 و حتى الان. و يقدم القسم ايضا خدماته العلاجية في عيادات جامعة النيلين منذ عام 2009 و حتى الان. و الان بصدد افتتاح القسم الجديد و الذي تم تأسيسه بمستشفى بشاير.
